I thought the grassy areas were looking a little bit flat, so I started working on the grass rendering. It uses the same general principle as the old grass system (fin/shell volume rendering) but now it uses vertex and pixel shaders to look better and run faster.

Great! This is a huge step to a new, realistic game style. In combination with fur and so on this will look fantastic (it does so already ;)).
So, when can we expect you to release a tech demo?
Wow, it looks nice! Both this and the previous blog post. Neat.
:P
The grass looks pretty, but maybe a bit “some chunk here, some chunk there”; which is not a bad thing, cause my garden looks like so too
That is some nice grass. best looking game I’ve ever seen, and it’s not even done!
Beautiful, I’m just worried I won’t be able to run this on my baseline Intel iMac. :-\
It will be really easy to turn off any cosmetic features like motion blur, HDR, or grass, so that shouldn’t be a problem!
Wow… :O I think thats all I need to say.
This game is gonna be awesome!
Also, I got a job so I can finally buy Lugaru 1.
Forgot to say: Could you make another video with the new grass in it? Its kinda hard to see in the pics.
Nice- I’m likin’ it.
will the grass grow
