I was tired of my old sky dome, so I replaced it with a single quad with a pixel shader that handles shifting backlit and normal-mapped clouds, ‘god’ rays, and atmospheric scattering. It actually has a lower impact on framerate than the old sky because it is all drawn at the same time.

wow, looks good, this game would rock with a mod like Garry’s mod but, for Lugaru 2 obviously
Nice, I like it a lot…everything looks better with every update.
The non-flat ground is absolutely amazing, and the reflective lighting is great!
Wow, when this is all done, I can’t imagine what its going to look like… :O
when do we get to run in this beautiful world?
‘oly shnap!!! I want to play this game very badly… I know you’ve been asked this like a trillion times, but will there be a pre-release demo? or a demo at all?
oooooh, purty
Good to see you back in action, David. This looks awesome.
These past screen shots are looking great. I wonder what kind of environment you’re planning for with black clouds and smooth stone tiling? It’s looking really interesting!
Woo! Is lookin’ good!
The clouds might need a bit more depth, though?
I also see you have a little funky dev editor going on with stuff like… add an enemy! And walls. .>
Wait, never mind what I said about volume! I saw the youtube video. Man! Awesome.
what is the link to the youtube video?
search lugaru 2 on youtube
its the very first video i think
this is one of those games that looks like it should be on the 360
Hey sorry to bother but that sky is awsome!! ! i was wondering howd you set up that sky ? was it complex ? is there any tutorials on how to do it that way?
What type (specs) of computer are you using for development?
wow…
i am awed
does this play for mac aswell as PC?
woah……
very nice
i love the sky it looks real, moving, and has this mysterious and majestic feel to it
i Agree, this would look outstanding with all those trees and water and… …*speechless*
wow gosu game
:D
where did you learn all this?
do you have any directx books or websites you would recommend?
nice it look real !
I hope the characters don’t walk on the ground as if it was flat unlike the way the flooring looks so far. That would make it seem like a cheap game. You guys have proven yourselves very capable so our standards have been raised, but the gameplay to me is more important than graphics. Though Lugaru 1 didn’t have SUPERB graphics, the gameplay rocked.
Keep up the good work Wolfire team!

BTW, I am not a female though my name is cupcake.
I am just wonndering, what programs did you use to create the 3d models and textures for lugaru 1 and 2
Looks awful nice.
