New sky shader

By David on July 19th, 2007

I was tired of my old sky dome, so I replaced it with a single quad with a pixel shader that handles shifting backlit and normal-mapped clouds, ‘god’ rays, and atmospheric scattering. It actually has a lower impact on framerate than the old sky because it is all drawn at the same time.

wow, looks good, this game would rock with a mod like Garry’s mod but, for Lugaru 2 obviously

Nice, I like it a lot…everything looks better with every update.

The non-flat ground is absolutely amazing, and the reflective lighting is great!

Wow, when this is all done, I can’t imagine what its going to look like… :O

‘oly shnap!!! I want to play this game very badly… I know you’ve been asked this like a trillion times, but will there be a pre-release demo? or a demo at all?

These past screen shots are looking great. I wonder what kind of environment you’re planning for with black clouds and smooth stone tiling? It’s looking really interesting!

    Woo! Is lookin’ good!
The clouds might need a bit more depth, though?

I also see you have a little funky dev editor going on with stuff like… add an enemy! And walls. .>

I hope the characters don’t walk on the ground as if it was flat unlike the way the flooring looks so far. That would make it seem like a cheap game. You guys have proven yourselves very capable so our standards have been raised, but the gameplay to me is more important than graphics. Though Lugaru 1 didn’t have SUPERB graphics, the gameplay rocked.

Keep up the good work Wolfire team!
