Lugaru 2 Music
There has been a lot of talk in the forum about Lugaru 2 music, so we decided to post a track with excerpts from several of Mikko Tarmia’s fantastic songs. There are several kinds of songs in Lugaru 2, and they will play based on the current situation and Turner’s emotional state.
You know this is such a great concept. There have been some nice music found in other games but they’ve always been thrown in generically level-by-level, or from from specialized scripts such as, entering into a specific place/boss, or the usual combat music that kicks in during fights. And these songs are just awesome, they range from being a playful cheeriness tone to a downright serious and frantic mood, fantastic.
A Playlists being based around the current situation and Turner’s emotional state, I’m just loving this idea.
Great excerpt!
Do you know how the tracks were produced (Logic, Cubase or real recordings) ?
I have no idea what you’re talking about when you say playful cheeriness, zanta, but damn…
this..
This… AAAHH!! *lurve*
Mikko Tarmia knows what he’s doing!
Lovely pieces.
sounds very joe hisaishi (the guy who did the music for mononoke-hime). i like!
That sounds like awesome battle/boss music. Cool stuff!
Awesome track! This music is so cool!
Woah, this is great! It’ll make Lugaru 2 feel like a new game! (well, almost…)
I must be on loop 6 or so by now…
Wait, sorry for the double post, by new game i meant new series, and I have to say, that last exerpt just blows me away! I should cut this up and put it in place of the lugaru1 music… but I’ve been down that road before, not pretty…
I’ve only just come to this blog after rediscovering Lugaru on an older computer, and let me just say cheers. The work done for Lugaru 2 is definitely top-notch and I’m excited to see what the “finished” game will be like.
I do have to ask though … I’m assuming that if food is somehow incorporated into the game, the rabbits would be herbivorous and the wolves, carnivorous? Just wondering, since I noticed the meat objects in the sample images demonstrating rendering effects. It’d just make sense to me, and it would also kind of emphasize the divide between the kick-ass-”good” and “evil”.
the second to last one reminds me of super metroid for the SNES
It’s Beautiful music for sure, The Loud parts are realy good too, what are the sad/gloomy Music for? after a battle?
Man, Lugaru 2 is exceeding my expectations by a great deal. I would have been happy if it was just more campaign & challenge levels, but while I wait I am playing something like that, the Sven mod done by Wolfire, and it’s pretty cool. I truly recommend it, though some parts are pretty hard (as if the original Lugaru wasn’t :)), (such as the valley level, I think it was called) but it’s fun (especially the first level with all the staffs.) (Dang I’m using a lot of parentheses, don’t you think?)
the fifth sounds like boss battle music
