Over the past year, I have invited a number of people to write guest blog posts on the Wolfire Blog (and would love to have more, contact us) -- but now the tables have turned and I was invited to write a post for someone else: The official Google App Engine blog!

How App Engine served the Humble Indie Bundle

The topic is basically how I took advantage of Google App Engine to write the Humble Indie Bundle. During the 12 days of the bundle, we served up about 3.4 million page views (and maybe half a terabyte of static images files). App Engine performed as expected: scaling the bundle to as many servers as necessary and providing great performance even in the face of simultaneous posts on Digg, Reddit, Slashdot, etc.

The total bill from Google? $71.56.
