Desert Terrain

By John on November 14th, 2008

Here is a desert environment for Overgrowth. In addition to using real world data, we are using a program called World Machine 2 (WM2) to add erosion details and other small scale features. WM2 allow for fast, high quality results and lots of unique detail with less effort. The program is also free for non-commercial use, so people should be able to use it for their own mods once the game is out.

This is one of the very best desert terrains I’ve seen. I really like the detail you have on the dune peaks. Except the middle-left side looks a little bit moony. Otherwise its a really nice work. Keep it up like this!

It looks like a picture! That is so FRIGGIN AWSOME! Overgrowth has better graphics and mechanics than the big companies like Blizzard, and Is made with almost no budget and by one small team of people, the main programmer of witch graduated from collage in the last year!

Wow. Just…wow. You could post that on a photo site as part of the Great Sand Dunes and have it pass cursory inspection, at least. Really great!

I love the sky. I like how the clouds are more stylized than they were before; it looks great, almost like a painting.
